THE PROGRAMME
The Interregional Programme "Naturalmente Italiano", started in 1999, is a complex series of coordinated initiatives. The aim, is to promote typical Italian food specialities (delicatessen, cheese, olive oil, fruit and vegetables, organic food) and wines in United States, Canada in (English and French), Japan, Sweden and Denmark.
Objectives
- To promote and market high quality regional products.
- To support their distributive penetration.
The products
The products that will be promoted within Naturalmente Italiano are exclusively local products, typical and of high quality, all of them guaranteed and controlled. More precisely:
- DOP products
(Protected Denomination of Origin)
- IGP products
(Protected Geographical Indication)
- DOC wines
(Controlled Denomination of Origin)
- DOCG wines
(Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin)
- IGT wines
(Typical Geographical Indication)
- Organic foods and wines
The initiatives
Workshops and tastings
Meetings with food and wine tastings between Italian companies and local importers and agents.
Participation at the main fairs
ICE arranges and coordinates the presence of Italian companies at the main food and wine fairs in respective countries.
Promotion weeks at food chain stores
Promotion weeks will arranged at food chain stores supported by
ad-campaign in the daily press and periodicals.
Promotion at Italian restaurants At a few chosen Italian restaurants are arranged tastings of some products. During the promotion weeks, both at chain stores and restaurants, is it possible to at no costs get recipe books containing Italian typical regional recipes.
News letters
Several news letters are turned out which contain up-to-date information about the Italian agroindustrial and wine industry, such as: description of project various activities and presentation of participating companies. They are distributed to wholesalers, importers/agents, restaurateurs, sommelier and specialized journalists.
Italian cooking courses
Italian cooking courses aimed to get knowing the correct use of regional products in cooking are arranged by ICE in respective countries.
