BioPartnering North America

Vancouver, BC, February 4-6, 2007
The fifth edition of the annual BioPartnering North America came to a close in Vancouver on February 6th, as the most successful editions of this growing parterning event in the Biotechnology field.
BioParterning North America is among the leading conventions for private companies operating in Biotech, attracting over 900 delegates hailing from 500 companies, representing 25 countries. The event is designed to facilitate one-on-one meetings between firms in the domains of product research and development, clinical trials, and financing.
The Italian Trade Commission, in collaboration with the Canadian Consulate General in Milan, participated with a delegation of 6 Italian Biotech firms. With over 160 company, 8,400 qualified individuals employed, and a revenue approaching 3 billion Euro, Italy is the 4th European Biotech power behind only France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Bio-medical company specialized in oncology.

Pharmaceutical group involved in development of pharmaceuticals for cardiovascular, inflammatory, gastrointestinal and genito-urinary conditions.
- Xeptagen Spa
Biotec firm focused on diagnostics in the field of oncology. The participating Italian companies took part in a seminar on the Italian Biotech industry, as part of the BioPartnering official program. The seminar featured a brief overview of the Italian biotech market followed by individual presentations by each of the company's on their research focus and product pipeline, as well as fields in which they were actively seeking or offering their collaboration.
Following the conference, the delegation took part in company visits in the Vancouver area, organized by the Italian Trade Commission in cooperation with the BCBiotech agency. The site visits included Michael Smith Laboratories, Life Sciences Centre of the University of British Columbia, Child and Family Research Institute, BC Cancer Agency and the Genome Sciences Centre.
BioPartnering North America 2008 will take place in Vancouver on February 3-5th 2008.
