Nauticamed World Ravenna 2-3 MARCH, 2007 During the month of March, the Italian Trade Commission I.C.E. has organized the participation of the Canadian delegation at the 4th edition of NauticaMed World which has been held in Ravenna 2-3 March 2007.

The event dedicated to the boating industry has been organized with the collaboration of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade and SIDI - Eurosportello represents an interesting opportunity for all industry operators who wish to explore and/or consolidate their business on foreign markets.

The two days intense program began with a welcome speech given by the President of the Ravanna's Chamber of Commerce Mr. Gianfranco Bessi, has been continued with the Italian local authority further by the three presentation given by Trade Analysts accompanying the delegations from Australia, Brazil and Canada. The afternoon program was focused on one by one business meetings. The program continued on the second day with business meetings followed by afternoon visits to the sites, shipyards and marinas.

In fact, the 4th edition of NauticalMed World has opened the Mediterranean's border to a new geographical zones: Australia, New Zeeland, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada and Brazil were among the countries that were invited to participate at the event in order to meet with the Italian companies, and to promote solid and stable commercial affairs.

The interested foreign countries with different characteristics were numerous; in some the boating industry is an important and very well structured field where the excellence of "made in Italy" could be consolidated and exported. In some other countries, the sector shows a strong potential of growth, and partnering or technology transfer would be another option to build a business relationship. The involved sectors at the event were shipbuilding industry, subcontracting, shipyard, components production, interior design/accessories, tourism, chartering, planning and design.

The visit and its program has been defined quite fruitful by foreign participants who were impressed by the technology, and engineering as well as the innovative techniques used in shipbuilding, just not to mention the unique design and style of Italian boats and yachts.
