The Italian Edge: Technology for Sustainability Presentation Reception - Toronto


  On Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the  Toronto Board of Trade, The Consul General of Italy, Gianni Bardini, and the Toronto office of the Italian Trade Commission, hosted a cocktail reception to welcome the new  Italian Trade Commissioner in Canada, Ascal Bova and to officially launch the Italian Trade Commission's newest book in the series The Italian Edge entitled Technology for Sustainability. 200 guests from the Toronto business community, the manufacturing industry, as well as various Italian and Canadian government agencies and institutions attended the event.  Also in attendance several general, business and specialized media.   During the event, the Italian Trade Commissioner explained the ambitious editorial project by providing case studies on how Italian companies have supplied innovative technology solutions to local partners worldwide.  Anthony George, President of Amut N. A., one of the Italian companies featured in the book, and Ryan L'Abbe, Vice President and General Manager of Blue Mountain Plastics, talked about the new Ice River’s closed loop, PET recycling project in Shelburne, ON. Donna Cansfield, PA of the Ontario Minister of Economic Development and Innovation, Brad Duguid stressed the importance of such partnerships between Italian and Canadian companies.
