THE VERY BEST OF MADE IN ITALY FURNISHINGS AND DESIGN ON SHOW IN KIEV

Kiev Expo Furniture to be held from 9 - 12 March, represents an exciting opportunity to promote trade relations with the Ukraine. Some 130 Italian manufacturers will be displaying to the public of visitors and industry experts a taste of the very best the Made in Italy furnishings and design sector has to offer, with the aim of further enhancing the already profitable trade relations between the two countries.
Furniture, furnishings, fabrics, lamps and lighting systems: nothing is left out in an effort to make every environment in the home as welcoming, relaxing and fashionable as possible. In the kitchen, with modern or classic design featuring refined nuances, the emphasis is placed on detail: solid wood furniture, steel, or marble are “combined” with colourful cotton breakfast table coordinates and specially designed Italian espresso coffee cup sets, tablecloths in the very best fabrics, mats and coasters. In the living room, an endless array of sofas, armchairs, chaise-longues, marvellous curtains in a rich variety of hues and fabrics. And then the frames, porcelain and ceramics from the regions of Emilia Romagna, Campania and Veneto. On show for the bedroom are a full range of headboards and mattresses, wardrobes and bedside tables, mirrors and table or wall-mounted lamps.
The group of Italian companies exhibiting their wares will include furniture manufacturers specialising in children’s bedroom sets, displaying furnishings designed to provide simplicity and a rationalisation of spaces: so-called “bridge” solutions, or boiseries, featuring furniture in delicate colours such as lilac, green, pink and light blue, in bed, wardrobe and desk combinations that also allow ample space for playtime, with enormous colourful protective carpets.
Obviously, as in any self-respecting home, special attention is reserved for fixtures, handrails, doors and lighting systems, with rich and varied proposals that certainly won’t fail to impress visitors at the Kiev Expo Furniture, such as wrought iron or artistic glass lamps. Bathroom fixtures are one of the strong suits of Italian exhibitors: featuring classic ceramic or more modern glass washbasins with supporting mirrors, shower boxes, prestigious furniture and capacious shelves for organising all sorts of objects, and even the very best in linen.
In a nutshell, there’s no lack of ideas to help establish new business opportunities, considering that Italy starts from an already advantageous position, confirmed by the latest data as the third most important supplier for the Ukraine among EU countries in the furniture and design sector. Events such as the Kiev Expo Furniture thus represent an additional opportunity to exhibit Italy’s products. 179 Italian exhibitors took part in Kiev Expo Furniture 2010, which saw 32,000 visitors cross its gates: this year the aim is not just to replicate the success of the previous edition, but to do even better.
