READYTEC – ITALIAN ICT SET TO CONQUER THE MEDITERRANEAN

ICT at 360 degrees, with competence and professionalism, is the trump card of the Readytec group, which for over 25 years has been designing cutting edge solutions in the areas of e-business, management software, hardware and systems. The group, which has more than 10,000 customers throughout Italy, has its historical headquarters in Chiusi (Siena), with other offices in Florence, Arezzo, Colle di Val D'Elsa (Siena), Rome, Milan, Turin and Catania, and 230 employees.
We asked Silvano Meloni, Readytec chairman, what were its major competitors worldwide, what overseas market areas it was easiest to work in and what were its plans for the future.
Chairman Meloni, how did the idea of Readytec come about?
The logic was that of a company providing quality services across the ICT sector to a clientele made up mostly of small and medium enterprises and professional firms. Now that the group has expanded (Readytec recently opened its latest office in Milan, ed.), we also have other areas of interest, which are essentially the tourism industry and pharmaceuticals.
What are your strengths on overseas markets?
For now, the tourism industry is clearly in the lead. We have developed a system that allows guest accommodation to receive online bookings and update room availability in real time on the web, a system that is being widely used for example in Israel, Turkey and Great Britain. The logic of the web and auto installation helps us because customers do everything themselves and our assistance and our interventions are developed rapidly from our offices
Based on what you have just said, will future outlets for Readytec in foreign markets start from the tourism industry?
Theoretically yes, because the solutions we provide in this area should cover the whole Mediterranean area.
Who are your competitors on international markets and where are they located?
The first competitor is Fidelio, which is based in the United States, while the second is European: the German Protel group.
What are Readytec’s objectives on the Italian market?
On the Italian market, which is very important for us, we work to provide the latest innovative technologies and we are also very committed to training our employees. We believe strongly in training because it is important that those who work for us are always up-to-date with the latest news about the sector. In Italy, in particular, we are working on the formula of "cloud computing" which seems to have been very successful.
What's the future of the group?
For the future the group has very specific objectives: the first is undoubtedly to try to increase the sector that is currently driving us, namely tourism; the second concerns continuous improvement of the internet services we provide to our customers.
