Main Activity
BioMan Srl was founded in 2002, with the objective of promoting and developing products and new technologies in nutraceutical, functional food, cosmetic and parapharmaceutical sectors.
Its laboratories are located in Colleretto Giacosa (TO) in the Canavese Bioindustry Park (BiPCa). This is scientific-technological park specialising in life sciences that works to create a link between university research and the business world.
The company operates in the biotechnological fermentation sector. Its mission is to develop the experimentation and the industrialisation of innovative additives and ingredients, starting from formulation of raw materials up to the production and distribution of the product, when this is economically viable.
In keeping with its objectives, BioMan is able to supply its customers with innovative products that are currently not present on the Italian or international market, so as to guarantee greater added value and facilitate penetration of the destination market. BioMan intends to provide its customers with additives and supplements that enhance the nutritional value of products already on the market and also to launch new products as: Lacto-Bio an organic Selenium supplement with live lactobacilli.
This represents a source of organic selenium (easier to assimilate) that is both innovative (selenium vectored inside the organism by live lactobacilli) and natural (the L. buchneri strain of intestinal origin, in suitable fermentation conditions, can transform inorganic selenium added to the culture medium, into organic selenium and accumulate it naturally). The production process is covered by a PCT patent n. PCT/EP2005/052361.
Given the interest raised by Lacto-Bio, similar research is being carried out to assess the use of probiotic strains as vectors to supply other metals which are essential for the structural and functional integrity of the cells. In order to offer our customers a wider range of products, further research is being performed in the field of lactic bacteria, yeasts and fungi so as to obtain a pool of products that are able to satisfy the most diverse requirements of the end consumers.
