TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION IN ITALIAN TEXTILE MACHINERY ON SHOW IN SHANGHAI
On the occasion of the second ITMA Asia + Citme exhibition http://www.itmaasia.com/ in Shanghai between June 22nd and 26th, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE), with support from the Italian Textile Machinery Association (ACIMIT), will coordinate 168 companies in a National Sector Group, bringing together companies belonging to the textile production sector.
The event will showcase the best that is available in Italian textile machinery production for the Chinese market, which remains the sector’s major export outlet, with a turnover of 270 million Euro.
What new offerings will be present on the Italian stands and who will want to visit them? There will be complete latest generation plants for textile finishing with direct coating and foaming, machinery for the treatment of rope textile substrates, raising and shearing machines, grinders, machines for dyeing packaged tights and knitwear, and for brushing and weft straightening. In short, for an exceptional showcase like ITMA Asia + Citme, the choice will inevitably fall on only the best in ‚ÄėMade in Italy‚Äô production, which is largely located in centres with an ancient textile tradition, such as Biella, Como, Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, Prato and Vicenza
Italy currently ranks second in the world among the countries producing textile machinery, and the technological level of its production is considered extremely high even by its competitors. In 2009, 50% of Italian exports in this sector went towards Asia, while Europe came only second with 31%. For this reason, the Italian companies participating in the Shanghai exhibition will not miss the opportunity to show visitors and insiders the latest developments of technological research. The first objective will be to confirm the expectations: reliability and ease of use of the machinery, an excellent quality/price ratio, and attention to safety and environmental impact.
In addition to consolidating leadership positions in the Chinese market, the companies will also be seeking new and interesting business opportunities in an exhibition whose previous edition registered enviable numbers. In fact, there were 1,368 exhibitors from 30 different countries, and 90,000 visitors. Most of these were Chinese (70%), with a further 20% coming from 96 different countries and regions of Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
By participating in the most important international textile machinery exhibition, the Italian companies at ITMA Asia + Citme will be in a position to harvest all the incentives and opportunities on offer, attempting to broaden the horizons of their market and overcome the challenge of other countries in the fields of innovation and technological competence.
