Hong Kong Optical Fair 2015 - Italian participation at the 23rd edition of Hong Kong Optical Fair
The 23rd HKTDC Hong Kong Optical Fair will be from 4th to 6th November 2015, the biggest event in the eyewear sector in Asia and one of the largest worldwide. This year the fair hosts about 720 exhibitors from China, Korea, France, Japan, Italy, Taiwan and for the first time in Macau and the Philippines.
ITA - Italian Trade Commission, in-collaboration with ANFAO (The Italian Optical Goods Manufacturers Association), organized the Italian pavilion, around 200 square meters with the presence of 23 Italian companies: Area 98, Atmosphera, Style Center, Cidi, Faoflex, Fralux , GB, Glam, Lastes Group, Li√≤, Logoproject Design, Luxol, Martini Glasses, Miraflex Export, Modo Eyewear, Nico Design, Optical Farm, Pinoptik, Pramaor, Dagger & Nyleve, Symboline, Thema Optical, Trevi-Coliseum.
The Italian group is located in the prestigious Brand Name Gallery, dedicated to brands, within the space of Visionaries of Style (VOS), where each year will select the best creative products and expose the most innovative international brands. The area will be set up according to a theme chosen by the creative team of VOS: this year's theme is the Wonder Land.
Hong Kong is an important international player in the sector and ranking the third within the places of exporting glasses and frames after Italy and the United States, with a total value in 2014 reached about USD 1.87 billion, down 0.91% compared to the same period in 2013.
Imports from Hong Kong in the entire sector have increased in 2014 of 6.85%, for a value of more than USD 1,144,000,000. The main suppling countries are China, which holds a market share of 65%, and Italy with 13.1%; Following Japan, very detached from the first two positions, with a market share of 4%.
