Cosmoprof USA
July 13-15, 2008, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas

July 13-15, 2008, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) collective will participate for the second year in the Cosmoprof North America trade show. The trade show highlights cosmetic and hair care products. The exhibitors are predominantly American manufacturers and producers.

The brands represented under the umbrella of the ICE collective are: AGGF COSMETIC GROUP, ALLEGRETTI, ARSMETALLO, BARUFFALDI, BEMA COSMETICI, BETAFARMA, BIOS, C.B.E., COSMETIC CENTER, DERMACTIVE, DHARMAFLOS, ELCHIM, ETI, EUDERMIC, EVERLINE, EVERLINESPA, EXAR-OXYGEN SYSTEMS, FARMAVITA, GAMMAPIU’, GM KOSMETIK, HENBOR, KAARAL, KIEPE, LORD & BERRY, LUMSON, MAPLAST, MASCARA PLUS, MINIPACK TORRE, NEE MAKE UP MILANO, PEDRINI BEAUTY COMPANY, PETTINIFICIO GUENZANI, and REGI INTERNATIONAL.

The exhibitors participating in the ICE collective will be showcased in an area completely dedicated to Made in Italy and highlighted by appropriate signage. In order to offer the exhibitors effective assistance within the ICE stand, a Service Center has also been set up.

Because of the recent depreciation of the US dollar against the Euro and decreasing general consumer demand, the American market is currently in a state of decline or decreased growth. In 2007, overall American imports of cosmetic products “Made in Italy” were down by 1.69% compared to 2006 levels. However, importation of hair coloring registered an increase of 32.44%.

In the US cosmetics market, American companies that manage all their own production and distribution control 85% of the market share. A further 10% is in the hands of French conglomerates, and the remaining 5% of the market is shared between all other foreign companies. The current trade balance in the American market is largely due to international shipping costs and the meticulous control exerted by the Food and Drug Administration over the effective ingredients in a product, and not by any recent limits imposed by American customs.

The Cosmoprof North America trade show is tailored to product producers, and in this environment the exhibitors can meet clients and distributors, most of whom operate on the West Coast and Southwest of the United States.
