May 2009 - The Italian Trade Commission announces Italy‚Äôs official participation at BookExpo America 2009 (May 28-31) with ‚ÄúSistema Italia‚ÄĚ, a showcase of books, catalogues and multimedia products from the following 21 Italian exhibitors:

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce (Bureau of Census), in 2008 Italy was among the major foreign suppliers of books, newspapers and other printed matter, exporting $110 million of products, in particular dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibles, newspapers and journals.
The Italian Trade Commission is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade, industrial and technological cooperation, and disseminating economic information regarding Italy abroad. The Chicago Office is responsible, among others, for the publishing sector, as well as maintaining and regularly updating its publishing website.
