May 2009 - The Italian Trade Commission announces Italy’s official participation at BookExpo America 2009 (May 28-31) with “Sistema Italia”, a showcase of books, catalogues and multimedia products from the following 21 Italian exhibitors:

Sistema Italia, Booth # 3622, will provide the opportunity to meet with Italian representatives from AIE - Associazione Italiana Editori and Bologna Children’s Book Fair, IBF – International Book Fair / Turin International Book Fair, Corraini, Gremese, Guerra Edizioni, Ibiskos-Ulivieri, La Coccinella, Mondadori Electa, Nottetempo, Paramica, RL Gruppo Editoriale, SEE Editrice Firenze and Zonza Media Group.
Additional Italian publishers participating at BookExpo America 2009 are Dami International (Children’s Books) at Booth 726, Macro Gruppo Editoriale (Body Mind Spirit) at Booth 4213, McRae Books (History, Art, Cooking, Children’s Books) at Booth 3035, and White Star Publishers (Art, History, Photography) at Booth 4564.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce (Bureau of Census), in 2008 Italy was among the major foreign suppliers of books, newspapers and other printed matter, exporting $110 million of products, in particular dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibles, newspapers and journals.
The Italian Trade Commission is the government agency entrusted with promoting trade, industrial and technological cooperation, and disseminating economic information regarding Italy abroad. The Chicago Office is responsible, among others, for the publishing sector, as well as maintaining and regularly updating its publishing website.
