NEWPORT MANSIONS OPEN THEIR DOORS, LIFT THEIR GLASSES AND BID A WARM WELCOME TO
MADE IN ITALY EXCELLENCE ON OCCASION OF THE FIFTH ANNUAL WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL
September 22nd 2010, Newport, Rhode Island ‚Äď Much to the delight of epicureans and oenophiles, the Italian Trade Commission returns to the Newport Mansions Wine and Food Festival. Festival goers will relish their chance to indulge in the Pure Flavors of Italy this year.
The Italian Trade Commission will be offering unique opportunities for festival goers to learn about and enjoy Italian wine, spirits and unique delicacies. Two days of the Grand Tasting, seminars and a jazz brunch will feature a selection of these authentic products.
Aniello Musella, Trade Commissioner and Executive Director for the USA, is ‚Äúpleased to partner once again with the Preservation Society of Newport County. Participation in this event provides a wonderful forum for trade members to share the very best of Italian Food and Wine with a terrifically savvy and discerning consumer segment.‚ÄĚ
Seminars will be held on Saturday at the Viking Hotel. Executive Wine Editor of Food & Wine Magazine, Ray Isle, will present a terrific selection of wines in his seminar entitled ‚ÄúUndiscovered Italy‚ÄĚ. Notable member of the trade and epicurean, Lou Di Palo, will discuss pairing authentic Italian gourmet cheeses and specialty items with wines of Italy.
In an effort to educate the consumer about the versatility of Italian Sparkling Wine and Italian Cocktail Culture, the Sunday Jazz Brunch will feature Prosecco and a myriad of cocktails such as the Newport Spritz created to celebrate the Festival. Italian Sparkling is really perfect for any time of day and can be enjoyed on any occasion; alone or in a signature cocktail.
Trudy Coxe, CEO and Executive Director of the Preservation Society of Newport County is ‚Äúdelighted to welcome back the Italian Trade Commission.
