ITALIAN TRADE COMMISSION LOS ANGELES DEALER EXPO INTERNATIONAL POWERSPORTS INDIANAPOLIS,IND 17-19 February,2007
The 38th edition of the Dealernews International Powersports Dealer Expo will be held in Indianapolis between the 17th and the 19th of February, 2007. On 333,000 sq.ft more then 1,100 exhibitors - 173 foreign companies- will showcase their latest products.
This is the most important north american event for motorcycles, parts and accessories, the place where manufacturers from all over the world meet buyers and distributors for the powesport industry . Foreign pavilions like China, Taiwan, Germany, UK , Italy are the highlights of the show.
The much appreciated "Made in Italy" will be featured in the Italian Pavilion , where 28 italian companies will offer,directly or through their distributors ,more then 60 legendary brands. In the pavilion, organized by the Italian Trade Commission in Los Angeles, promoter of the Italian motorcycle industry in the United States are, among others, the famous Piaggio, Aprilia , Moto Guzzi. Also manufacturers of accessories especialy silencers, mufflers, shock-absorbers, and clothing will offer their hottest trends. Some other Italian exhibitors like Wind Trading, Athena Srl, Acerbis, Bremo, Sito are promoting their merchandise independently.
United States is one of the most lucrative market ( $23 billion/year) and for the Italian motorcycle industry one of the most sought outlets. L'Italy , in 2006, was the fourth provider of motorcycles , after Japan (73.4%), China ( 6.6%) and Germany ( 4.10%) with $136 milions in imports and 4.03% share of the market. The positive trend was followed by the imports of parts and accessories with $82 milions and 7.3% share of the market. One of the most important issues for the Italian companies exporting in the USA is understanding and handling the " aftermarket" a concept which does not exist in Italy.
