THE ITALIAN PAVILION AT TECHTEXTIL 2008 – ATLANTA (USA), 1-3 APRIL 2008
The Italian Trade Commission, in association with TexClubTec the Italian Association representing the entire technical textiles chain (from machinery, to fibres and fabrics, chemical treatments and finishing) and in particular fabrics producers, organized a collective participation of 12 Italian Companies, producers of technical textiles at the fifth edition of TECHTEXTIL USA, that will be held April 1 – 3, 2008, at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta (GA-USA).
The exhibition is the most comprehensive North American trade show and symposium for technical textiles: Techtextil is the only trade show that assembles all vertical aspects of the technical textile industry, from research and development, through raw materials and production processes and finally ending in conversion, further treatment and recycling. The exhibition brings together all the major players in the technical textile industry: the world’s leading companies in the industry will meet for education, networking and business development.
The last edition of the event in 2006 had record numbers in both attendance and exhibitor participation: with over 350 companies and nine country Pavilions, including Italy, in an exhibit area of 14.000 sq.mt. The fair is an important meeting place for manufacturers and distributors.
Research, innovation and technology are the key words of Italian technical textiles, fabrics highly durables, specifically designed for application ranging from: environmental protection, road construction, drainage systems, sportswear, safety and protective clothing, industry and packaging application, healthcare, transports, but also fashion. This variety of uses are due especially to the application of “Nanotechnology”: the result is an upgrade in performance, without changing the nature of base fabric (with the acquisition of new functions such as abrasion resistance, dirt repelling properties, skin tolerance, wash fastness, etc)
Nanotec, (the Institute of the Italian Association for industrial research into nanotechnology) counted 287 Italian patents in 2005, and a large number of them are for technical textiles. The Italian producers of technical textiles employs over 6000 people in about 250 up to date companies.
If you are attending TECHTEXTIL we invite you to visit the Italian pavilion, booth # 1009. For full details on the 12 Italian companies participating within the official Italian pavilion please download our brochure.
