THE BEST OF ITALIAN ROAD, RAILWAY AND CONSTRUCTION MACHINERY PRODUCTION IN CHINA
Building machinery and site vehicles for large infrastructure projects and road and railway construction: in China, which is growing at a dizzying rate, innovation also includes used machinery, which will be exhibited at the Bauma China Fair in Shanghai, from 23rd to 26th November. Italy will be participating with a collective of 27 companies, coordinated by the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade and the two trade associations, Comamoter and Ucomesa, to offer visitors and industry operators the best in Italian-made production.
In what is one of the sector's most important events in terms of numbers (participation in the 2008 edition included approximately 1,600 exhibitors on a 210,000 m² total floor area, and almost 113,000 visitors from all over the world, making it a very interesting fair) the goal is to manage to establish important new contacts with local and international entrepreneurs and create business opportunities. Therefore the best products from the earthmoving machinery spare parts sector, including transmissions, differential axles and reducers, will be on display in the Italian pavilion. There will also be products for oleodynamic plants, such as pumps and oleodynamic distributors, hydraulic valves and integrated collectors, fluid control devices, oleodynamic fittings and flexible hoses, and finally site machinery and equipment, including pneumatic hammers, platforms and pressure washer pumps.
Short-term market analyses indicate a new boom for construction and earthmoving machinery imports to China, which should already record a growth of almost 20% by the end of this year, reaching a record figure of approximately five billion dollars. The economic stimulus package adopted by the local authorities for the two-year period 2009-2010, intended to a large extent for the development of infrastructure, such as the rail network, urban transport and airport structures, has certainly contributed to this result.
An annual growth in construction investments varying between 8% and 10% has also been forecast for the next five years. These investments will be particularly concentrated on transport and energy infrastructures, as well as on the construction of residential and commercial buildings.
Regarding bilateral trade, Italy‚Äôs market share of total construction machinery imports to China in 2009 was almost 5%: a result that can definitely be improved. The presence of the Italian companies in Bauma China 2010 is therefore particularly important, and with their expertise and the quality of the products they offer, they will certainly be able to compete with other countries. Efforts to counter the economic crisis that has affected the sector also include Shanghai and the operators are well aware that this is an important occasion for exchange to which they must pay particular attention.
