ICE organized new initiatives related to the boat industry
Following the seminar and networking event “Yacht design and industry from Liguria” on 25th March 2011 – during Abu Dhabi Yacht Show 2011 - which was organized by the Italian Trade Commission on behalf of the Region of Liguria, the ICE office in the UAE has organized initiative with the Region related to the boat industry. From 15th to 18th of May 2011 a business delegation from the UAE visited 7 shipyards and accessories manufactures in the Region of Liguria and had a deeper insight into the local Marine Industry, besides to establish and strengthen the relations with the representatives of the Emirati market.
A second trade mission will be organized by the Italian Trade Commission in cooperation with Lucca Promos (Chamber of Commerce of Lucca, Tuscany). A selected numbers of operators from the nautical sector in the UAE will participate in the 11th edition of “Interboat” (13-15 June 2011, Viareggio). During the business mission, the delegation from the UAE will visit the nautical shipyards district and participate to the B2B meetings arranged with local companies, in order to explore more business opportunities in the Italian boat industry.

Italian Luxury Interiors 2011

Designers and manufacturers coming from Italy, representing the best in interior design, will participate in the second edition of “Italian Luxury Interiors”. The exhibition - organised by the Italian Trade Commission - will take place in Dubai, from 27 to 30 November 2011.
It will be a journey through the Italian manufacturing excellence: a collection of furnishing and objects – exclusive, often numbered, series – created using the ancient techniques of Italian craftsmanship, which have been revisited and updated in a wide range of styles and content.
The first edition of “Italian Luxury Interiors” - with 37 Italian firms attending - took place at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, from 4 to 6 March 2010.
During the last exhibition, have been organized:
- Media session, arranged in order to offer guided tour of the interactive exhibition;
- B2B meetings for professionals, which offered the local operators and traders the opportunity to meet the Italian exhibitors;
- The seminar “Italian Design: The Pursuit of Beauty”, held by Marco Piva, leading Italian architect and interior designer, who described origin and trend of Italian design, from the past till the present days. Professors and students from the Department of Art and Design of Zayed University, from the Ajman University of Science ad Technology and from the New York Institute of Technology visited the exhibition and attended at the seminar.
The first edition of Italian Luxury Interiors was a success: the three-day event attracted over 400 people, most of them active trade buyers, interior designers and architects
