NANOTECHNOLOGY AND RENEWABLE ENERGIES EXCELLENCE IN ITALIAN RESEARCH ON SHOW IN BOSTON, US

Boston is to become the world’s capital of renewable energy sources and especially of nanotechnology for a few days. It will happen at the "TechConnect World Conference & Expo 2011" fair, to be held from June 13 to 16. There are five events within one major fair devoted to innovative technologies. Indeed, the following events will unfold concurrently at the Hynes Convention Centre: "Nanotech Conference & Expo 2011", "Clean Technology Conference & Expo 2011", "Microtech Conference & Expo 2011", "Bionanotech Conference & Expo 2001", and "Tech connnect Summit & Expo ". ICE will be present in the "Clean Technology" and "Nanotech" events, coordinating a group of 8 Italian companies, which were carefully selected from among the best in the industry in collaboration with the association of Airi / Nanotec It category.
The goal is to generate partnership opportunities among the participating companies and their American counterparts. The stands will display information promoting the excellence of the Italian companies and research centres, showcasing the latest developments in nanotechnology and their various applications. In the "Nanotech" section, we shall present nanoparticles, which used as filler, have the ability to intercalate or bind to polymer chains due to their nanoscale dimensions, and then anodic nanoporous oxides, metal nanowires, and nanoparticles. In addition, we shall present materials, also polymers, which find applications in aeronautics, marine, energy, and transportation.
As for the "Clean Technology" section, we shall present high-quality products from medium-sized manufacturers of wind turbines and photovoltaic systems, together with other companies investing in concentrated photovoltaic and solar thermal energies. ICE’s stand will be available to all participants and visitors to the fair, with the clear intent to become a reference point for bilateral meetings while promoting the excellence of Italian companies and research centres, and showcasing the latest developments in nanotechnology and their various applications.
"Nanotech 2011 Conference & Expo” is now in its fourteenth edition. It was held this year in one of the world's main nanotechnology poles, receiving participants of high academic and scientific level, and leveraging the highly developed and dynamic Nanotech community. Indeed, the United States holds the undisputed primacy in the global nanotechnology industry, both by number of companies in the sector (over 1,000) and by capital expenditure. The Obama administration has implemented important policies to support research in areas of high technological content. In that regard, the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI), in collaboration with the White House, presented the strategic plan for the development of the nanotech industry in the U.S., and its applications in various fields. Therefore, the opportunity is there and the Italian companies will surely take advantage of it.
