With the emergence of a redefined consumer philosophy, the value of luxury has been reinterpreted to mean many different things for different people. The Italians have long had a monopoly over delivering unparalleled luxury and are noted for their dedication to the superb and refined, bringing to discerning consumers the finest in craftsmanship, style and quality. The Italian Trade Commission showcases the best and finest of Italy in this 350-page coffee table book dedicated to the art of Italian luxury.
In this latest book published by Revolution International, writer and photographer duo Jonathan Lobban and Jason Michael Lang come together to reinforce the concept of luxury that comes with a ‘Made in Italy’ label. From around the world, discriminating consumers turn to Italian brand names for exceptional quality and design. More than ever before, it has become increasing important for consumers to identify with and truly understand the value of luxury.
Delving into this fascinating evolution of luxury, author Jonathan Lobban writes about the passion and integrity that goes into creating luxury goods from fashion powerhouses, Agnona, Brioni, Cesare Paciotti, Ermenegildo Zegna, Kiton, Pal Zileri, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Stefano Ricci and Tod’s as well as a look into the works of jeweler Bulgari, milliner Borsalino, sofa and interior furnishing pioneer Poltrona Frau, writing instrument artisan Tibaldi, fine luggage designer Valextra along with supercar manufacturer Lamborghini and luxury yacht builder Riva. In all, 17 of the most celebrated and respected brands from Italy, making up the luxury landscape of the country, are featured in this visually stimulating volume.
And through the eyes of American photographer Jason Michael Lang, the incredible journey of how a luxury product is produced and captured in this literary adventure.
Together, the two succeed in bringing consumers closer to the Italian legacy of fabricating luxury. Rather than a history book on the stories behind these renowned brand names, Hand of the Artisan – The Soul of Italian Luxury seeks to bring to consumers a deeper understanding and appreciation of what goes through the minds of the creators and craftsmen behind these luxury pioneers.
From tailoring workshops, ateliers, mills and factories, this book is the essential guide into the captivating world of authentic Italian luxury.
Hand of the Artisan – The Soul of Italian Luxury will be available in both Chinese and English language versions to be launched from Jun 11, 2010 from www.therakeonline.com.
