THE GALLERY OF GIOIELLO ITALIANO - JEWELLERY MADE IN ITALY
HK Jewellery & Gem Fair
16 - 20 September 2010
The Italian Trade Commission, together with Assicor (the Italian Association of the Chambers of Commerce founded to promote coordination and productive development of the jewellery, silver and related industries), and Promos (Special Agency of the Milan Chamber of Commerce for International Activities) with the contribution of Unioncamere (Union of the Italian Chambers of Commerce), proudly presents “The Gallery of Gioiello Italiano” at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 16th to the 20th September. To unveil the event, a cocktail will be held on Friday 17th September.
“The Gallery of Gioiello Italiano” presents a collection of twelve pictures inspired by twelve famous Italian paintings and is part of the large-scale global campaign titled “Gioiello Italiano”, an initiative aimed at promoting Italian-made jewellery in national and foreign markets.
Sharing a common vision in bringing the unparalleled Italian jewellery-making heritage to connoisseurs worldwide, the “Gioiello Italiano” project is spearheaded by ASSICOR, and is supported with great enthusiasm from a large base of Italian institutions and business.
Italian jewellery has always been renowned for its excellence, refinement, and elegance: with its jewellery-making districts and centuries-long traditions, Italy is a country where goldsmiths and jewellery makers have always employed an outstanding variety of techniques, combined with a wealth of artistic expressions.
The organizers, with “Gioiello Italiano”, are committed to strongly promote the jewellery industry by way of an integrated communication strategy aimed at making it even more identifiable in the multifaceted world scenario.
“Gioiello Italiano” represents the first and unique important initiative for a unified communication of the Italian jewellery sector setting the goal of offering a unified coordinated image and promoting the values of reference for Made in Italy jewellery.
Working alongside the Italian Trade Commission in Hong Kong, whose efforts in reinforcing commercial ties between the regions have been exemplary through years of dedicated work, ASSICOR, Promos-Milan Chamber of Commerce together with the Italian Chambers of Commerce System are supporting Italian jewellers to take on the centre stage in the scene of fashion into the next millennium.
“The Gallery of Gioiello Italiano” has been conceived in such perspective and it contains the universe of Made In Italy values. Amalgamating elegant creativity with superior craftsmanship characterizing Italian design, every item was hand-tailored by artisans with expert skills passed on from a jewellery-making tradition dating centuries old.
The pictures hold the unparalleled beauty of these famous Italian paintings and the uniqueness are mesmerizing of the sets of Italian jewelleries. The art direction of the project was followed by IED Centro Ricerche, research center of Istituto Europeo di Design group, while the costumes are creations of the students of the Costume Technicians course of Accademia teatro alla Scala.
Moreover, during the HK Jewellery & Gem Fair, Assicor will also support under the flag of Gioiello Italiano the exhibition “Gold Up”, an initiative spearheaded by OroArezzo in collaboration with the prestigious magazine Vogue Gioiello, that will also be exhibited from the 16th to the 20th September right next to “The Gallery of Gioiello Italiano”.
“Gold Up” brings together master artists and top craftmanship: eleven Italian fashion designers interpret jewels created by artists, architects and designers, 70 fabulous sculptures combined with glittering fashion creations.
The result is a gallery of women’s portraits, each unique, each set in a different part of the world. Like the clothes, the precious jewels become an expression of uniqueness and personality. “Gioiello Italiano” thus reaffirms its role as an everlasting expression of luxury.
