13 - 15 MAY, TORINO: INDIA GUEST COUNTRY AT THE INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR
The Italian Trade Commission, Mumbai is organizing a fully sponsored delegation of 13 selected Indian publishing companies for the 23rd edition of the IBF-International Book Forum that is to be held in Turin, Italy from the 13th to the 15th May 2010 and where India will be the Guest Country. Alongside female writers widely appreciated in the West, such as Anita Desai e Anita Nair, Vikas Swarup, the diplomat-writer who has found worldwide fame through the film Slumdog Millionaire taken from his novel, in Torino there will also be, among others, Namita Devidayal, Tishani Doshi Prem Shankar Jha, Radhika Jha, Sudhir Kakar, Kiran Nagarkar, Indra Sinha, Tarun Tejpal, Altaf Tyrewala. But there will also be Western writers who, like Gregory David Roberts, author of a cult novel set in Bombay, Shantaram, have given memorable depictions of India. The International Book Forum is the business area of the Turin International Book Fair born to support meetings and business networks among international publishers, literary agents, producers and new media companies from all over the world. A well-established and a well-known event, the IBF has a very rich program: meetings, pitches, events where publishers can buy and exchange copyrights and to develop new literary projects for screen adaptations (fictions, feature films, documentaries, animation series).
