The Italian Trade Commission in New Delhi and ICRIER are presenting the report “Sports Retailing in India: Opportunities, Constraints and Way Forward”. The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 10.30 a.m. to 12.15 pm at ICRIER Conference Room, Core 6A, 4th Floor, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi – 110 003. In India, the sports sector is undergoing several changes as the country is hosting many national and international sporting events this year and in the coming years. The Indian government is also investing in development of sports infrastructure and is promoting sports at the grass-root level. Growth in sports awareness and favorable FDI policies has given a boost to retailing of sports goods. However, there are hardly any academic studies on this sector. The findings of this study will be presented at the seminar.
