MODENA'S "MOTOR VALLEY" GIVES BIRTH TO THE RIKER KIT THAT MAKES CARS ELECTRIC

Increasingly āgreenā and committed to sustainable mobility, the Riker company (www.riker.it) from Castelnuovo Rangone in the province of Modena took a year and a half, but the end result is worthy of note: a kit that can turn a conventional car into an electric vehicle. Riker was set up in 2010 thanks to the experience of Evotek Engineering (www.evotekengineering.it) and the united skills of four professionals: President and Technical Director Gian Luigi Cavani, head of marketing and communications Miria Burani, head of production Michael Serra and head of electronic design and development Flavio Odorici. The four formed a group within which dynamic and highly qualified young people have found their place in both the technical and conceptual fields and in marketing and communication.
Riker is active in the sector of environmental technology and energy saving. It deals mainly with the production and marketing of pure electric vehicle technologies, developed in the Evotek Engineeringās research and innovation laboratories for sustainable mobility. The E01 Evotek Kit for the conversion of cars with internal combustion engines into cars with electric motors is on the market with industrialisation of the product and two versions of a Smart reconverted into an electric vehicle: one is equipped with a kit of lead acid batteries and the other with a kit of lithium batteries, both promoted by Evotek Engineeringās Make Your Smart Electric (MYSE) project. In fact, 2010 saw the start of industrialisation of the kit, and reconversion in series of the cars and their marketing was entrusted to Riker. The E01 Evotek Kit was designed to maintain as far as possible the features of the original car. To this end, the active and passive safety systems (airbags, ABS, brake system, structural cell, etc.) remain unchanged from the original. In addition, the interior of the car, including the boot, undergoes no change and the external appearance shows no change from the original car except, of course, for the absence of an exhaust pipe. The converted car has zero emission and boasts a 90% reduction in noise. Its maximum speed is 70 km/hour, with acceleration from 0 to 50 km/hour in 6 seconds.
Evotek Engineering is located in the heart of Modenaās "Motor Valley", an area in which companies like Maserati and Ferrari operate and with which Evotek collaborates actively. The company designs, tests and produces prototypes and innovative components for the automobile and other sectors. Its high level of innovation and highly specialised research and development make Evotek an important and highly sought after partner for companies in the sector. Since 2008, it has redoubled its efforts and has also become active in the fields of energy saving and "green" mobility.
