THE ECOLOGICAL BRU.MAR HOUSE EXPORTS A QUALITY HOME ENVIRONMENT TO CHINA
Produced by the Italian Bru.mar group, and presented in an international preview at the Expo 2008 âEcoabitareâ trade fair in Milan, towards the end of 2008, the "Rebecca" ecological house is 100% Made in Italy. The reason for the interest that this novelty has aroused is all due to one fact: compared to the current generation of sustainable housing, Rebecca is capable of producing up to 78% less annual CO2 emission into the atmosphere. But their ecological inclination is not the only significant aspect of the solutions created by the Bergamo group, which has internationally patented its "Bru.Mar house", now also available in the "Federica" model, a single family house in city or coastal versions.
Rebecca, which has a 30 year guarantee, and comes in the one family single-storey version and the multi-family version on three-floors, is also distinguished by its high technological content, in keeping with the mission of the Italian company, which has always been a pioneer in advanced domotics. These two features, therefore, make the Bru.Mar house a leading solution from a group that strives to promote quality home environments, not just in Italy, but throughout the world.
This ambition was strengthened by the recent contract, signed at the beginning of 2009, for the creation of an entire neighbourhood of around 5,000 inhabitants in the Chinese city of Wenzhou. The Italian group will provide a thousand prefabricated houses, which will be made in Italy and will generate valuable business for the allied industries in Lombardy, who provide materials, components and equipment for the company. The value of the order is around 1 billion Euros.
The Bru.Mar ecological houses are completely automated: artificial intelligence assures the integration of all the technologies present in the structure. The house is so digitalised that appliances can be controlled, or commands given to the automated systems, through the internet or by SMS, in simple, user-friendly ways. And that is not all; should the watering or electrical systems malfunction, the owner can constantly monitor the situation by means of control software that prevents flooding or dangerous short-circuits.
Safety, not only in the form of protection from fire hazards or leaks, is one of the distinctive features of the Bru.Mar house. Rebecca, for example, is delivered, keys-in-hand, fitted with armour-plated doors (with electronic locks and anti-drill lock plates) and triple-glazed anti-theft windows. Protection of the familyâs peace of mind comes together with the comfort of the home, provided by luxury furnishings, such as parquet floor coverings - made with wood certified by the PEFC programme, which preserves forest ecosystems - or porcelain stoneware adapted for sustainable housing.
Rebecca, produced with natural and recycled materials, free from all toxic components, is anti-seismic. The frame of the structure is in timber, finished with porcelain stoneware and wooden slats. The partitions are insulated wood panels. The roof is clad with copper sheets and the windows are photo-chromic and adjustable. The house, which can produce electricity from sunlight, comes with a class "A" environmental certification.
