BETWEEN AEROSPACE AND DEFENCE THE QUALITY OF ITALIAN PRODUCTION ON SHOW IN BRAZIL
The best defence systems and aerospace products, the real pride of Italy in the world, will be on show at the Laad trade fair in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and this is an opportunity not to be missed. The fair, the leading trade event in Latin America for the aerospace industry and “triservice” defence systems, will host a Helitech pavilion dedicated to helicopters and related technologies. It is planned to introduce three new thematic exhibition areas for the 2011 edition: a security area, a training and simulation area, and a "Space Zone", dedicated to companies from the space sub-sector and government agencies working in the sector, in line with the national defence strategy.
The Italian group, coordinated by the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) in conjunction with the Secretariat General of Defence at the Ministry of Defence, will comprise 17 companies selected from among the best in the industry, to give visitors and experts confirmation of Italy’s ever-high standards of quality. Brazil is one of the leading markets for Italian companies in the aerospace sector, and it is a priority not to lose positions. The country also boasts a primary role in the field of defence compared with the rest of Latin America, and this sector has registered 50% growth over the last six years.
Through the National Defence Strategy, Brazil plans to allocate substantial funds to the modernisation of its armed forces and the purchase of new technologies, besides promoting the setting up of joint ventures. What better opportunity for a fair, then, to make known the products of Italian companies, which seem to be "at their ease" in a dynamic market such as Brazil. On display will be the entire range of products developed thanks to major corporate investments in research, and their high degree of precision and the quality of the components used will leave a positive impression on the experts visiting the fair. In short, between tradition, quality and innovation, there will be no shortage of opportunities to establish new commercial synergies.
The previous edition of Laad in 2009 saw the participation of 336 exhibitors from 53 countries in an exhibition area of 35,000 square metres, while around 18,000 traders visited the fair: this year it is hoped to do even better. Through the new thematic areas, new Italian businesses sectors will be present this time and will be involved in the attempt to gain a greater share of the market in a country where the presence of Italian businesses dates back to the 1970s. Now, as then, the goal is to grow, building on existing business relationships and creating new ones.
