Italien auf der Gamescom vom 22. - 24.8.2017 in Köln - Business Area Halle 4.1 Stand A12/13 B14
ICE / ITA - The Italian Trade Agency, in collaboration with the trade association AESVI (Italian Entertainment Software Publishers Association), organizes for the third edition an Italian pavilion presenting 14 leading companies belonging to this sector.
The video game industry is a rapidly expanding field, positioned at the crossroad / intersection between innovation and creativity. Italy can therefore certainly carve out a role and compete with traditional entertainment and software industries.
The video games market in Italy closed the business year 2016 with a turnover of over one billion euro (1.029.928.287 euro) and a growth trend of + 8,2% compared to 2015. Positive numbers were recorded for sales in all market segments, such as software (+ 11,9%), console (+ 2,3%) and accessories (+ 3,7%).
The software, as already mentioned, witnessed an increase of 11,9% compared to 2015, and represents the largest segment of the market, with a weight of 61,8% on the overall business volume during 2016 and a turnover of more than six hundred million euro (636.908.554 euro).
From the point of view of production, Italy still does not appear in the list of the major countries, yet it has a good chance to climb positions since most of the more than 120 Italian firms operating in the sector, entered the market during the last three years.
In Germany there are 34.1 million players and the turnover in video games segment amounted last year to 2.9 billion euros, as much as 2015. It is therefore an interesting market where you will encounter growing business opportunities.
