  ITALIAN DAYS IN ICELAND
                            1TH - 4TH October 2008


Representatives from the Italian Trade Commission of Oslo have been present at various activities in Iceland during the week dedicated to promotion of Italian products.

Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition in Reykjavik
The 2nd of October 2008 the exhibition "Leonardo Da Vinci í dag" (Leonardo Da Vinci today) was inaugurated in Galleri 100ş in Reykjavik. The exhibition was opened by the mayor of Reykjavik, Mrs. Hanna Birna Kristjánsdottir, in the presence of inhabitants of Reykjavik, invited guests from the city of Vinci and representatives of the Icelandic supermarket chain Hagkaup, which has sponsored the exhibition.

During the exhibition 20 models of creations by this great Italian inventor and artist will be on display. One of the main targets of the exhibition is to present Leonardo Da Vinci's work to the young generation of Icelanders, and there will be a program of activities designed especially for the schools that want to visit the exhibition. The exhibition will be open from the 3rd of October until the 28th of November.

Italian Days at the supermarket chain Hagkaup
The supermarket chain Hagkaup is organizing "Italian Days" in 8 supermarkets in Iceland. For ten days the focus will be on Italian products - both Hagkaup's own private label and other Italian brands. Hagkaup has had much success with their own label "Italia", a complete range of products from the area of Maremma and other parts of Tuscany. The "Italian Days" is a collaboration between Hagkaup and Maremma Toscana - Grosseto Export.
