 ITALY REPRESENTED BY ICE ON THE LOFOTEN ISLANDS
Røst, Norway 7th August 2008
On the opening of the new ferry pier "Tysøya", on the island of Røst in Norway on August 7th, Italy, the only country invited by the Norwegian authorities, was represented by the Italian Trade Commission Office of Oslo (ICE).
Infact, thanks to the clipfish trade with Italy, the Lofoten Islands have experienced a stable increase as far as the economic growth is concerned.
Italy is ranked as the first importer of this product from Norway.
The current special relationship between Italy and the Lofoten islands goes all the way back to the XVth century, and is still highly appreciated by both parts.
