  ITALIAN WINE MEETS SCANDINAVIAN CULTURES

As part of its promotional activities, The Italian Trade Commission (ICE) launches the presentation of Borsa Vini in the Scandinavian Countries of Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Importers operating in Finland and Estonia will participate as well. The event is aimed to offer new high quality products to wine`s connoisseurs and importers, through wine tasting and personal contact.

In appropriate exhibition facilities, selected producers from 81 wineries representing 14 different Italian regions will attend in person with samples of their products. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet them, taste wines, discuss and finalize business agreements on a one-to-one relationship basis. The Wine Tasting is supported by a wide range of advertisements in the most important enogastronomic publications printed and online. Newsletters will be distributed before and after the event and last, but not the least, a website; www.italianflavours.org dedicated to the tasting, with information about the program and an online catalogue, has been launched.

Norway represents one of the most dynamic markets for Italian wine. Participating at the event, the 10th of June at Gamle Logen in Oslo, are 46 exhibitors, from 12 different Italian regions, offering the Norwegian counterparts the possibility to taste the wines and meet the producer directly.

In addition to the wines' presentation, a Seminar & Tutored Tasting for journalists and sommeliers will be held in order to favour a direct acquaintance with a very particular wine: "Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG". The tasting of about 6 varieties of Sagrantino - the excellent grapevine native of Montefalco in the Umbria region - will be conducted by experts and will be introduced by the President of the local Consortium of Producers, which strictly controls, protects and guarantees the quality and origin of their products.
