Slovenian importers for Italian products do not choose fundamentally their distributors according to their geographic origin, but on the basis of the product quality. Gradually they start and open trades with partly - or wholly owned Italian capital, created to prevent double commission payment (due to the present distribution system). These trades import products for retail sale directly from Italy. We are going to study this phenomenon further, since it is not quite clear and, in most cases, it regards small businesses.
Beyond the above mentioned trades with various areas, as far as fashion and industrial design are concerned, we could mention shops and franchising belonging to important firms such as: Benetton, Cerruti, Natuzzi (cushioned furniture), Max Mara, Marina Rinaldi, Marina Yachting, etc.
