CLOTHES, SHOES AND ACCESSORIES: ALL THE BEST OF ITALIAN FASHION SHOWCASING IN TOKYO
Everything Made in Italy from head to foot. Clothes, shoes, bags and accessories from the best Italian brands will be showcased at the autonomous exhibition, Moda Italia that will take place in Tokyo from the 1st to the 3rd of February, 2011 simultaneously with the “Shoes from Italy” exhibition at The Westin Tokyo Hotel.
An event which has arrived to its 38th edition, and which is eagerly awaited for by experts of the sector and Japanese visitors, appreciators of the taste and elegance of the Made in Italy. An event that is not to be missed, thanks to the National Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) who has taken care of the event’s organisation, succeeding in involving companies of every sector to bring to Tokyo a taste of the best of the Italian “total look” for the Autumn 2011-Winter 2012 season preview.
Moda Italia will bring to Japan 124 Italian representative companies: 66 of which will showcase in the Clothing section, for 20% this will be their first experience, 34 other companies will showcase in the Leather Goods section and 24 will take part in the simultaneous “Shoes from Italy” exhibition.
Visitors and experts will therefore be able to admire, for women’s fashion, sweaters made of angora or of extremely soft cashmere and silk clothes that are elegant in taste but casual at the same time. Quilted and fur jackets to protect from the cold in style. The men’s fashion will also be able to satisfy even the most refined of tastes: delicately nuanced pinstripe suits to match with fine, two-fold shirts and contrasting collar, to be contrasted perhaps by a bolder coloured tie or a scarf. There will also be leather jackets and hooded parkas.
A large selection will also be available as regards to accessories: scarves, hats, jewellery, everything elegant and practical. Not to mention bags: models of all types, from large practical ones to tiny clutch bags for more glamorous evenings, made in satin, leather, waterproof fabric and even wool.
Together with the bags, shoes: footwear is in fact the star of “Shoes from Italy”, the second show of this unique event of the “Italian System” of fashion. Staggeringly high-heeled pumps, pointed fringed boots and comfortable shoes for the sportive type.
Not to be missed, taking place during the Show’s opening day, the illustrative seminar of the Italian fashion trends, protagonists of an exhibition which can be visited in one of The Westin Tokyo Hotel’s halls for the entire duration of the event. Textured panels, realised with photographs, sketches and fabrics from the companies participating in the event, will give tangible shape to the showcased styles, configuring themselves along an exhibitive wave-shaped path, a link between Italian creativity and Japanese culture.
To conclude, Tokyo’s event is a truly unique opportunity for Italian fashion companies and Japanese people working in fashion to develop business opportunities, confirming the good continuation of Italian export in this sector for which Japan is the eight end market in the world and the first one in Asia.
