NWG GENIUS THE APP MADE IN ITALY THAT DESIGNS CUSTOMISED PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS

An innovative "green" company operating in the photovoltaic industry has designed an app to facilitate the sales process of its 7 thousand energy brokers nationwide. This is NWG, a company established in Prato in 2003 and among the main Italian companies of the green economy, and the app is NWG Genius. The app is designed to run on mobile devices, allowing the configuration and design of the photovoltaic system most suited for to the customer's needs, based on information sent directly to the parent company and without the need to carry out inspections. An important step for a company that focuses on training and preparation of its brokers, as well as focusing on the creation of a solid and lasting relationship with its customers, which are followed during all stages, from design to maintenance.
By using the app developed by NWG, the energy broker only needs to obtain a limited amount of basic information from the customer, such as exposure and surface of the building, roof surface, average monthly expenditure for electricity and kilowatt hours used per house. With this information, through a geolocation system based on Google Maps API and a simulator, the energy broker can configure the most suitable system for the customer, based on the customer's actual needs, make assessments regarding the system orientation, the expected output, determine the economic benefits and the positive contribution to the environment that this choice will produce over time.
The app was created by Xenesys, a consulting and IT solution and services design company based in Siena and has been presented at the 6th edition of the Best Practices Award for Innovation. NWG Genius is downloadable as a tablet application in html5, and is available for both pc and tablet (iPad/Android).
Founded in Prato in 2003 by Francesco D'Antini and Antonio Rainone, NWG is active in the green economy sector with several divisions, which have grown over the recent years. In renewable energy, the core business of the NWG group is active through NWG Photovoltaics. Since 2011, the commitment has also extended to electric mobility with NWG E-mobility: after the launch of the NWG Zero citycar (100% electric and 100% Italian) in 2012, it also offers a range of 5 battery-assisted bikes (NWG Bike) and two innovative NWG Scooters. Furthermore, for household energy savings solutions they have created NWG Home, while the NWG for Planet division has been created for compensation of CO2 emissions and, finally, the NWG Academy for training. At the end of 2011 the company had a turnover of 76 million euros for over 9 thousand photovoltaic systems installed. In March 2012, the company employed 120 employees.
