FROM THE HEART OF ABRUZZO TO THE CONQUEST OF INTERNATIONAL MARKETS THE ADVENTURE OF LAS MOBILI

From the heart of Abruzzo to almost every country in the world, with quality furniture for the most diverse work environments: this is the story of Las Mobili, a company based in Tortoreto (Teramo). Since 1976 – the year in which it was founded – it has grown by taking a bold approach to foreign markets, where it has earned positions of leadership and credibility. We asked its founder Giulio Pedicone what were the strengths of the company and what were its future projects.
What is the value added of a company like Las?
Las Mobili is one of Italy’s largest office furniture companies. Our mission is to improve office working conditions through the creation of innovative furniture with a good quality-image-price ratio.
The value added of the Las Mobili product lies in the technology, which means that we invest heavily in innovation and research, but the real competitive advantage is the ability to work as a group, which allows us to satisfy customer demands and beat what the increasingly qualified competition has to offer. The absence of hierarchical barriers, information sharing and the accountability of people who feel part of the company permit us to react quickly to market forces and to improve the quality of our products and services.
Then there's the respect for the environment: Las Mobili was among the first in its sector to obtain UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certification for proper management of environmental processes and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification for a style of management that promotes environmental protection.
Which of your products represents you the most?
The wide range of office furniture, chairs and partitions provided by the business group. Las Mobili products are made entirely in Italy and in full respect for the environment. In addition, the company mission is not limited to manufacturing furniture and solutions for modern offices with high levels of functionality, design and quality but also to anticipating the working trends of today and tomorrow, incorporating them within working habitats around the world while retaining the Made in Italy style.
How is the company positioned in foreign markets?
With 50% of production distributed abroad, the Las Group has taken a leading role in the export of office furniture manufactured in Italy. The sales organization is widespread and structured throughout both Italy and abroad, with 800 stores in almost every country in the world.
An advanced logistics system allows customers to send and track their orders online.
Are there any unexplored markets that could become an opportunity in the future?
Currently, we are interested in emerging countries such as India and China.
What does the future hold for the company?
In the future there will be consolidation of the current company situation in Italy and abroad.
