GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY
Since its founding in 1969, Agrotec has developed its consultancy activities throughout the world, underteaking studies, detailed designs, technical assitance and the management and monitoring of rural development projects and programmes. It is fraquently involved in the process of privatizing the agricultural aand related sectors, which is now taking place in counries whose econoies were formally controlled at central level. In undertaking these activities , the company is able on the support of specialized italian research institutes and universities.
Agrotec provides its services to a wide range of international financial institutions, public sector enterprises and private firms.

MAJOR PROJECTS
2000-2001 - Albania - EU-Phare - Finalisation of the tender dossier for fish Market of Vlora and Construction Supervision of the new Fish Market and Slipway in Vlore and Slipway in Shengjin (Lezha)

1999-2000 - RIBS-Interventions Pro Agro-Industrial Sector, Rome. Consulting Services for Agro-Industrial Investments in five Italian regions (Piemonte, Val d'Aosta, Lombardia, Liguria and Toscana Regions)

1998-2000 - EU-Phare - Ministry of Finance, Riga - Pilot Regional Development Plan for the Latgale region
The general objective of the project is to develop the capacity of the Latgale region in relation to regional development activities and to create an ability to effectively access national and international assistance programmes, especially in the context of EU integration as well as self sustaining development of the region.

1999-2000 - Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Kirghystan, Tajikistan - EU-DG VIII - RESAL - Food Security Programme
Support for: (i) formulating analyses of food insecurity situations; (ii) decisions in defining food security programs and food security strategies, in close cooperation with local Delegations and technical assistants; (iii) devising tools for evaluating the impact of food security programs; (iv) conceptual discussion for integrating the various approaches to poverty reduction, food security and rural development.
