GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY
Italferr S.p.A. is the consulting engineering company of the Italian Railways (FS) founded in Rome in 1984.
Italferr operates in the fields of traditional and high speed mainlines railways, metropolitan transit, other transportation systems and complementary sectors. The Company offers a complete range of services from transport development plans, feasibility studies to preliminary and detailed designs, preparation and evaluation of tenders, procurement services, project management, supervision of works, testing, inspection, start-up assistance, technical assistance and training, project financing assistance.

MAJOR PROJECTS

2002-2003. Central Asia Railways Telecommunications - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. Technical Assistance for the creation of the railways Telecommunication Master Plan and development of related feasibility studies.
2002-on going. New Turin-Lyon Railway Line. Feasibility study of a railway tunnel between Italy and France and of a new "autoroute ferroviaire".
2002- on going. New Puerto Cabello - La Encrucijada Railway Line- Venezuela. Supply of engineering services for construction of the new dual track and for realization of the new railway system
2001- on going. CEI Romanian Railways Cooperation. Technical assistance for preparation of projects documents and for the indication of appropriate implementation steps relative to the projects included in the CEI (Central European Initiative) financing programme.
2001-on going. Technical Assistance to the Concessionaire of the Pacific Railway Network - Colombia. Technical, operational and construction assistance for the consortium of local companies for the execution of complete rehabilitation and running of the cargo transport (500 km line).
2000. Preliminary and Executional Study and Supervision for Coaches Repair Centre of Aleppo - Syria.
2000. Project Preparation Support for Modernisation of Signalling/Safety Devices on the Railway Line Divaca-Koper - Slovenia
