FULL IMMERSION IN ITALY-MADE ELEGANCE IN BEIJING
All the most significant Italian-made clothing for men, women and children will be there. Over the years these have made quality their strong point and striven to maintain their outstanding excellence through intelligence and renewed creativity. There will also be no shortage of stands devoted to accessories: from nickel-free costume jewellery to bags, scarves, belts, footwear and everything that contributes to making an ensemble unique.
Chic 2010 will be an exceptional showcase, a huge fair bringing together the most representative fashion labels in Beijing from 28th to 31st March.
Forty Italian firms, coordinated by the Italian Trade Commission, shall participate in the event. It will be an occasion not to be missed in order to consolidate leading international positions at an international level and establish new trading relationships with dynamic markets such as that of China.
Overall imports of clothing items to China have grown exponentially over the last twenty years, increasing from 61 million dollars in 1991 to more than two billion in 2008. Italy has managed to gain an important position in this context, especially in certain key sectors such as woven garments, which have yielded exports of 228 million Euros, cornering a 19% share of the market, and knitted garments, for which it ranks second among supplying countries, behind Hong Kong, with an export value of around 106 million Euros and a 12% market share.
The products of the Italian firms at Chic 2010 will be varied and of the highest quality: visitors will be given a full immersion in Italian-made elegance, starting from men’s and women’s clothing. Particular attention will be given to children’s wear, made with materials of the highest quality, and to a particular product category, maternity wear, dedicated to mothers-to-be and inspired by their needs for comfort during pregnancy.
The journey will then continue through footwear, made from Tuscan leather according to the highest manufacturing standards or by the craftsmanship of the great traditions of Montegranaro, Parabiago and Vigevano. It will then continue through fur coats, intimate apparel and accessories (bags, followed by nickel-free rings, earrings and necklaces), among which the leather goods will certainly attract particular interest.
The Chic fair has grown from success to success, with eighteen editions and an ever-increasing number of participants: last year there were eight hundred exhibitors, three hundred of which came from 20 different countries around the world. There were also 100,000 visitors, and the most interesting fact for the participating firms is that it was not just Chinese people that were visiting the event, but also enthusiasts and curious guests from 30 different countries throughout the Asian continent.
