PASTA, WINE, OIL AND MUCH MORE: THE BEST IN ITALIAN FOOD ARRIVES IN TOKYO
The excellence of Italian cuisine, renowned throughout the world, is coming to Japan for the largest food industry trade fair in the Asia-Pacific region. The 39th Foodex Japan Exhibition will be taking place at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo from 4 to 7 March.
This genuinely special event has been held in Japan since 1976 and is aimed at the development of the food industry in the vast Asia-Pacific market, creating real business opportunities for both foreign visitors and local businesses.
Twenty-six thousand exhibitors from over 70 countries and regions around the world will be participating in Foodex, including producers and commercial enterprises, together with 75 thousand buyers (there were 71,500 in 2013).
This rich environment would hardly be complete without the presence of Italian-made food products, recognised worldwide for their unique excellence.
The Italian Trade Agency (ICE) will be the Made-in-Italy standard bearer in Tokyo, organising a large collective that brings together the best in Italian food production. It will provide an opportunity to know 100% Italian pasta, of the highest quality and of every variety; the best oils from Italian olives; pesto and sauces for pasta dishes; delicious olives and pickles; the outstanding quality of the prosciutto and, of course, parmigiano, as well as choice juices and organically grown products.
Last but not least, it will offer an occasion to sample and taste the best of Italian wine production. In short, it will be a festival of tastes, quality and flavours that will certainly attract thousands of visitors.
The collective will be arranged in Hall 4-6 of Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe, in an exhibition space of over 2,000 square metres. The Italian pavilion will house approximately 150 companies, with a total of 125 stands. Various regions will be represented, coordinated by foreign agencies, regional authorities and chambers of commerce (Abruzzo, Liguria, Piedmont).
These will be working in synergy to present a unified overall picture of the abundant panorama of Italian food production, featuring large-scale companies as well as smaller ones, promoting unique, hand-crafted and niche products.
For the Italian exhibitors, it will be an opportunity to further consolidate their positions on the Japanese market and to present professional visitors and buyers with an increasingly specialised and diversified selection of our typical products, through direct contact with the Japanese and international industry operators attending the event.
Visitors can avail of a service area organised by the Italian Trade Agency, which will welcome and guide foreign visitors, provide assistance and organise side events.
