ENVIRONMENT AND RECYCLING THE ECOBIN FROM TEXA IS ALL ITALIAN
According to an estimate by the European Environment Agency, if all the urban waste produced in the year 2020, in the region of 340 million tonnes, were to be laid out, it would cover an area equivalent to that of Luxembourg, with a depth of 30cm, or Malta, with a depth of 2.5 metres.
This is why, when we speak about the environment and sustainability, we need to consider compacting, grinding and reducing the volume and space occupied by waste. And technology is now available to lend a hand.
This was the starting point for the research carried out by Texa, a division of Atop spa, which since 2005 has been offering to facilitate the economic enhancement of the waste resource and to safeguard the quality of the environment through the development and production of domestic and professional equipment.
It is a system where disposal takes on a secondary important while the separate collection of waste, aimed at recycling, takes on a primary function, in as much as it results in the reduction of the amount of waste to be sent for disposal and to enhance the commodity-related components of the waste right from the collection stage.
The Texa range of products includes the Ecobin 60TC, designed for managing all kinds of domestic waste: organic, plastics, tins and other materials. The aim is to have just one device in the home that is capable of dealing with organic food waste as well as rigid drinks and food containers in an appropriate and systematic manner.
Ecobin 60 TC is equipped with a touch screen from where all of its functions and its control can be operated easily and accurately.
The plastic-compactor is capable of compacting plastic bottles of up to 2 litres in volume while the one for other containers and packaging reduces tins, tetrapacks and types of cardboard. Finally, the wet waste triturator is used for grinding down organic food residues, without the presence of water and with low energy consumption.
During the cycle an enzymatic liquid is sprayed over the residue, slowing down fermentation and preventing unpleasant odours.
Whereas for the industrial market, Texa has produced the Dispro100: a grinder designed for the disposal of large quantities of organic waste materials, in places such as restaurants and company, university and hospital canteens.
This patented system reduces the volume of waste by up to 80% by using opposing blades to efficiently chop up all types of organic waste, even of a more resistant or stringy nature that the more traditional grinding systems are incapable of treating. The system includes a function for washing and sanitising all of the machine's internal surfaces activated by simply pressing a button at the end of the working day.
There are ideas for the home and the workplace, as well as those for the spaces in the nautical sector, all backed up with research, technology and innovation.
