THE CLASS AND STYLE OF ITALIAN PRODUCTION IN FRATELLI ROSSETTI SHOES.
Fratelli Rossetti is an established Italian company, which today continues its journey in the name of success, quality and style thanks to the three different but complementary personalities of brothers Diego, Dario and Luca Rossetti. Since 2003, the three brothers have run the company founded by their father Renzo Rossetti in 1948. The company started out with sports shoes, then the shoe factory was born and from there the story of success and growth has continued up to today, with an evolution that has turned the workshop into a global brand with a modern, flexible and structured management, but always with great attention to the craftsmanship of the product. We asked Luca Rossetti what plans the company has for the future.
The first overseas Fratelli Rossetti shop was the one on Madison Avenue in New York, opened in 1978. What are your strategies for development abroad?
The boutique on Madison Avenue has never shown signs of folding, even in the most recent period of global recession. During the 1990s, a time of takeovers and leading poles of luxury products, we decided to remain independent, despite tempting offers. We also aimed at commercial expansion. In 2012, as planned, two new sales outlets were opened in Hong Kong (second boutique) and Shanghai, making a total of 7 outlets in the Asian area. In the first half of 2013, we opened the first boutique in the city of Taipei in Taiwan, and inaugurated one in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 31.
What does the Fratelli Rossetti firm represent in its target market?
The growth of Fratelli Rossetti is a clear sign that our strategic and managerial investments to strengthen the brand and business are paying off.
What are its distinguishing features?
The success of Fratelli Rossetti comes from attention to detail, adoption of new processing techniques, the original use of materials and a continuing affirmation of Italian craftsmanship.
To which countries do you export and what percentage of turnover comes from exports?
Export turnover, which is currently showing an increase of 10% compared with 2011 and now accounts for more than 50% of total turnover, is what is pushing sales. These results have been influenced mainly by expansion in the Asian market (+107% compared with 2011), to which Fratelli Rossetti has dedicated a substantial development plan.
Have you kept your operational headquarters in Italy?
Yes, our operational headquarters are in Italy in Parabiago, in the province of Milan. However, we also have showrooms and communication and marketing offices around the world: Milan, Paris, New York, and so on.
What are your current plans for future development?
The Asia-Pacific region is a region on which we want to focus, and we plan to open 7 boutiques in 5 years.
