The ICE International Training Office organises a Seminar in Latvia for manager and public officers involved into the internationalisation process,. It will take place in Rezekne (9-10-11 May 2007) and in Liepaja (14-15-16 May 2007)

Objectives

To develop commercial and economic co-operation among the two countries through the upgrading of the knowledge of International Management and Trade.

Programme

The training initiative will be structured in three days seminar and will have the following programme:

  • Enabling innovation to compete in dynamic markets
  • The role of Venture Capital in early stage financing
  • Business Plan: scope and structure
  • Study of the market sector: entry barriers and competitors
  • Influence in the market sector of substitutive products, suppliers and customers
  • Analysis of the target market and of the factors that affect demand
  • Research and estimate of the potential demand
  • The marketing plan: product, price, distribution, communication
  • Decisions on the company structure
  • Evaluation of the economical feasibility
  • Financial needs and provisional statement
  • Interactive session: view of a movie with open discussion on "business attitude"
  • Personality of the enterpreneur: characteristics and practical suggestions
  • Accessing Public Sector Funds for Innovation in SMEs: some recent initiatives at European level
  • Introduction to New Technology Based Firms: some new proposal for European joint actions
