Training Seminar on Renewable Energy Kuala Lumpur, June 29th – July 1st , 2011

ICE International Training Division is organising a training seminar in Malaysia focused on Renewable Energy, addressed to SME's manager and government officials
involved in environmental sector and in the internationalisation process of local enterprises. It will take place in Kuala Lumpur from the 29th of June to the 1st of
July 2011.
The aim of the Seminars is to awaken participants to the topics above, and create the opportunity to develop industrial and commercial relationship with Italy and to
create contacts between Italian and Malaysian Institutions.
The programme will be structured as follows:
Day 1:
- General overview of the Italian presence, direction and achievement in the RE and Green tech industry.
- Innovation and technology transfer to address climate change
- Carbon Finance
- Hybrid power system
Day 2:
- Forest management and community forestry
- Biomass Cher-briquettes
- Green Charcoal
- Biomass to Energy
Generality, definition of biomass, chemical and physical aspects, characterization and classification of the biomass. Aspects of biomass energy technologies
that use the energy potential of biomass. Processes and technology systems installed and case studied:
- anaerobic digestion
- biomass combustion
- biomass pyrolysis
- biomass gasification
- Organic wastewater and anaerobic digestion, and environmental aspects of wastewater treatment technologies: the problem of nitrates
Day 3:
- Solar Energy Conversion
- Solar energy, solar radiation, solar energy captured
- Photovoltaic effect, the direct conversion of solar energy into electricity
- Photovoltaic technology, plant and central PV
- Solar thermal technology, thermal needs of a user of HSW
- Criteria for selection and sizing of solar thermal and PV
- Economic and financial returns on solar thermal and photovoltaic technologies for case studied
