The rapid growth of the cruise line industry, the importance of American passengers and the American cruise industry, and Italy’s dual role as a beautiful destination and supplier of numerous tourist ports and other services for the cruise industry are all factors which create an unprecedented opportunity for the Italian Trade Commission to capture new business opportunities.

The Miami office of the Italian Trade Commission, located in Southern Florida, the untitled headquarters of the cruise industry, strives to foster new relationships between the Italian and American cruise industries. Potential synergies between Italy and the U.S., two important players in the global cruise industry, are a likely result of business relationships between the two countries.

The Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention is the ideal event to cultivate business between Italian and American companies in the cruise industry. The Miami office is currently organizing the annual Italian Pavilion for the 2008 edition of Seatrade. Seatrade allows for cruise line industry leaders and decision makers to meet with industry suppliers. The Italian Pavilion, which will feature more than 30 companies and port authorities, allows for promotion of the Italian marine industry and Italian ports. Participating companies will vary from engineering to logistic services to shipbuilders, while the port authorities will represent the entire peninsula from Trieste to Venice to Palermo.
