International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show (IH/M&RS) New York City, November 10-13 2007
The Italian Trade Commission-Miami will be organizing an Italian pavilion at the 92nd annual International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show (IH/MRS) to be held from November 10-13 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. The IH/MRS is the world's largest showcase and point of exchange for products, trends, and developments within the hotel/restaurant industry.
The Italian Trade Commission-Miami is organizing the Italian pavilion with 15 of Italy's leading hotel/restaurant industry companies. In addition to the Italian pavilion over 1,250 other companies will be exhibiting at IH/MRS. This edition of IH/MRS expects to see over 35,000 attendees, all leading decision makers in the hotel/restaurant industry, as well as over 1,500 buyers. Industry leading Hotels chains such as Marriott, Wyndham, Intercontinental, Starwood, and Hilton, will all be attending the IH/MRS show.
Eight of the world's top ten hotel chains are headquartered in the U.S. making the US Hotel market the most important in the world. In the U.S. alone, there are 47, 590 hotels with over 4.4 million rooms. The recent past has seen a strong upward trend in terms of sales. In 2006 industry sales reached 133.9 billion dollars compared to 2002 sales of 1.2 billion dollars. Sales for 2007 have been forecasted to exceed 140 billion.
