OVERLOG: BETTER ORGANISATION FOR MORE GROWTH
The development and creation of advanced systems for the management and traceability of goods, and the optimisation of warehouse logistics: a computerisation of processes which guarantees to boost your business. This is the speciality of Overlog , a Friuli-based company formed in 2008 with the acquisition of the Satel Group srl.
Today, the company can boast a well-established, fully-equipped collection of over 60 warehouses, but still continues to invest in technology and innovation.
The business turns over €1.5 million annually, and its objective is to create simple, effective solutions to address complex problems: solutions which are both personalised and innovative, and enable companies to expand into foreign markets. We asked the company’s CEO, Marco Crasnich, to explain the projects and objectives of Overlog.
What are the most successful features of Overlog in your view?
I believe that high quality is our prime feature. It is this attribute that we want to demonstrate both in our services, and so in all the activities directly involving relations with our clients, and in the more technical aspects related to our SLIM2k product, the WMS (Warehouse Management System). The WMS is software for controlling the handling and storage of goods in the warehouse, and represents our company’s most important asset in the field.
How is Overlog positioned in its reference market?
In recent years, the company has greatly increased its presence and visibility at national level. In a sector as fragmented as ours, it is difficult to draw up league tables: we are often, however, one of the first companies people turn to when they wish to install their first warehouse management system, or wish to replace one.
What are your strategies for growth?
We believe in gradual growth, characterised by steady but continuous improvement: with ongoing training for our personnel and the technological development of our logistics solutions. It is only in this way that we can ensure the sufficient quality of the services and products we offer. This is a strategy that has proved satisfactory in recent years and which we intend to continue pursuing.
How have you reacted to the crisis?
We have extended our traditional geographical area of operation, and are highly focused on the core logistical side of our business. Our warehouse software SLIM2k (Integrated Logistic Warehouse Solution) is backed up by some of the best logistics expertise in the sector. This enables us to provide clients with assistance during the initial stage of reorganising their processes, and also during the phases of starting up and fine-tuning the system, helping to optimise its use and maximise results.
How are you placed on foreign markets?
We have been carrying out projects in Albania for several years now. Our success there has led us to set up a base in Tirana, from which we are overseeing the market with the aim of further increasing our presence in the country.
Have you got any short-term plans for expansion?
Our plan for the near future is to continue to pursue a strategy of growth which is based on solid foundations.
